2015 The Beginning of Backyard
Backyard Co., Ltd. was founded by a group of friends passionate about software development during the early days of Big Data. Initially focused on data-driven strategic planning, investment, marketing, and financial management, the idea for Backyard started from informal backyard discussions, which eventually evolved into the establishment of the company.
2015-2018 From Software House to Expansion
Starting with just six employees in 2014-2015, Backyard operated as a Software House, developing specialized software tailored to the needs of both public and private sectors. The company’s success in delivering custom solutions fueled its plans for further expansion.
2018 First Round of Fundraising
As the company grew, Backyard held its first fundraising round and evolved into "Backyard Group." During this period, the group also launched MEDcury Co., Ltd., a subsidiary focused exclusively on software solutions for the healthcare industry.
2019-2022 Structural Changes and Business Growth
Backyard Group experienced significant growth, expanding its team to over 100 software experts. With a clear focus on healthcare software development, the company completed its second and third rounds of fundraising, aimed at advancing their full-fledged Digital Ecosystem.
2022 Strategic Partnership with Muang Thai Insurance
Muang Thai Insurance (MTI), one of Thailand’s leading insurance companies, invested in Backyard Group, recognizing its expertise in data analytics. This partnership aimed to strengthen both companies’ technological capabilities and solutions.
2023 PRINC Partnership to Elevate Healthcare
Backyard Group partnered with Principal Capital (PRINC) to develop advanced systems for managing and analyzing patient and healthcare data. This collaboration aimed to enhance data security and efficiency across hospitals in the Principal Healthcare network.
2023 PNEXT Acquires
19% Stake
Principal Next Co., Ltd. (PNEXT), a healthcare investment company under Principal Capital, acquired a 19% stake in Backyard Group. This investment further propelled the company’s expansion into Digital Healthcare, improving medical services and operational efficiency.
2023-Present Driving Ecosystem Solutions
Today, Backyard Group provides full-service Digital Transformation solutions, from strategic planning with FLOWARD, to ERP systems for resource management, and automation through RPA.
In healthcare, MEDcury continues to innovate with its systems such as MEDHIS, MEDHIS Lite, MEDconnext, and Virtual Health, enhancing medical service accessibility and improving efficiency for both patients and healthcare providers.
